How to select the right jet card program

  1. First, where will you be flying from… and to?
  2. Will you typically be using just one type of aircraft?
  3. Does the program offer discounted “out and back” round trip rates as well as one-way rates?
  4. Is the program offered by an aircraft operator or by a broker?
  5. Will you be able to exit the program without financial penalty?
Where will you be flying from… and to?

Many jet card programs allow you to charter an aircraft from any location to any location within the U.S. Others promote narrowly defined routes such as Coast to Coast, the East Coast corridor, or LA to the Bay Area.

Great Circle is different in that it provides a “continent-wide” Primary Service Area (PSA) but specifically for those who typically fly out from one of our Great Circle Base Regions (Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay areas).   In other words, you can fly to destinations throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, or the Caribbean but your flight must either originate or terminate in one of your local Southern or Northern California airports.

Besides allowing us to provide a more client-centered level of service, this enables Great Circle  to offer significantly lower hourly rates. We call this the Great Circle “Local Touch - Continental Reach” distinctive.

Will you typically be using just one type of aircraft?

Some jet card programs offer one type or category of aircraft.  If your typical mission requires just one type – or you simply prefer that one type of aircraft, these programs will serve you well.

But Great Circle provides a wide range of aircraft that allow the customer to choose the aircraft that best meets their differing needs.  Whether it’s mid-size jets, light jets, and turboprops, you have the flexibility of selecting the right aircraft category for every flight.

Does the program offer discounted round-trip rates as well as one-way rates?

Perhaps all of your flights are “one-way”.  If so, then you have a broad array of jet card programs to consider.  Great Circle provides you with one-way rates (which tend to be significantly lower than our competitors) as well as round-trip rates.

Is the program offered by an aircraft operator or by a broker?

Many jet card programs are offered by brokers who source their aircraft from a large number of aircraft operators.  Other programs, such as Great Circle, are supported by operators who manage their own fleet and crew.

We believe a managed fleet approach to jet membership provides you with more consistent, quality service from a team of pilots, line service concierges, and flight coordinators who know you and your travel preferences.

Will you be able to exit the program without financial penalty?

Some jet card programs do not refund unused deposits.  Others require a non-refundable monthly membership fee while also charging for flight time.

Great Circle is both “plane” and simple.   Your flight costs are debited from your Great Circle deposit, which can be replenished at any time.  And, if you wish to leave the program for whatever reason, you receive a full refund of your unused deposit balance.  No “ifs, ands, or buts”.
